Byron Bay is a 90-minute flight from Sydney; two hours from Melbourne. Most planes arrive at The Gold Coast Airport, a 45-minute drive from town. Among the airlines providing service are Qantas, Virgin Australia, TigerAir and Jetstar. Some visitors travel to the region on the Pacific Highway, which takes about nine hours from Sydney and two hours from Brisbane. Buses provide transportation in and around Byron Bay.
